Q: Can i Put the 1983 ford bronco rebuilt engine in ?
Please i need desperate help. I rebuilt this ford bronco engine in 2004. It’s all together but was never put in for some reason. I’m getting ready to put it in. I’m just a beginner. I was able to turn the motor so I know it’s not seized. Please give me some advice Please!!
A: Carb. engines are easier to install then fuel injected engines .
With fuel injection you have a bunch of wiring harnesses to deal with.
Pour transmission a little transmission fluid down in the cylinders so your not dry revolving the piston rings. right before you put the plugs in turn the engine over with a starter and blow out the excess fluid. Then put your plugs back in.
It dosen’t get any easier to replace a motor as the years go by………It seems to get much more complicated
Q: On my 1983 Ford Bronco, I accidentally hooked up my battery with reverse polarity – how do I fix?
yeah, I hooked up negative cable to positive battery post, etc. (fully connected both battery posts) When I saw the solenoid on the side firewall smoke i realized something was wrong. now that I replaced that solenoid it still won’t crank, or start. Not getting anything upon turning ignition switch with a fresh battery connected correctly. What else should I check to fix the problem I caused?
A: at the solenoid at the hot side terminal, there is up to 5 fusable links, find the wires with the big rubber knots marked fusable and pull on them. one or all is prabably burnt in half. fix that.
Q: I have a major problem on my 1983 ford bronco w/351W can someone help!!?
I have a 1983 ford bronco w/351W, Recently replaced plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter, battery is good, and its getting gas in the carb but i was driving it yesterday and it died on me in the middle of an intersection, I havent been able to start it since, and the engine does turn with the starter but just cant turn it on, please help!!!
I was able to start the truck this morning but it turned off about 3min later then i couldnt start it up, i bought brand new coil and ignition module and it still didnt turn on. Tomorrow im going to buy a tool to check if it has a good spark in the plugs but still no luck, and now im not sure if its getting enough gas because i see just a tiny bit of mist when i press the accelerator pedal, but theres nothing else to do but keep trying and thanks for all the suggestions guys, i havent tried all of them yet.
and one more thing i just added two high flow magnaflow cats about 3 months ago with 3 inch tubing so the cats are good, but thanks
A: IF IT STILL HAS A CATALYTIC CONVERTER IT MAY BE TOTALLY PLUGGED WHICH MEANS THE EXHAUST HAS NO WHERE TO GO
Q: 1983 Ford Bronco with a 4 spd man. trans it feels like the trans is slipping(if it was an auto)like a jerking?
any ideas?
A: 1 of 3 problems here
Either your clutch needs adjusted, needs replaced, or your pressure plate is weak and needs replaced.
I would reccomend replacing your clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, and pilot bearing to save repairs in the long run.
Q: how much does liability insurance cost on average at the age of 16 being a boy with a 1983 ford bronco?
A: Just liability, not that much. Of, course because you are a newer driver it would cost more. But your smart to get an older car so you only need liability.
Rates depend on what state your in and your company. Call your parents agent and ask for a quote. And, ask for all the discounts they offer.
Q: what is the ignition timing on a 1983 ford bronco 351w engine?
A: 10 degrees and plugs gapped at .054
Q: how many gallons is my 1983 Ford Bronco inline 300’s Gas tank?
A: The options for the fuel tank on this Bronco were either 25.5 or 33 gallons.
Q: where can i find a wiring harness 1983 ford bronco 351 w v v carb dura spark 3 ing?
A: Check your nearest ford dealer or find a same model wrecked car and took it off from there.
Q: Is a 83 ford bronco a 1/2 ton truck or suv?
Im looking at buying a 1983 Ford bronco with an 460 in it wicked nice but is it a truck or suv
A: It’s an SUV.
Q: I have a ford motor 8 cylinder, I dont know the size or year E3AE-6015-BA22 Z please help?
I need to know the motor size and year, I know it is an 8 cylinder, I believe it came rom a 1983 ford bronco but I am not sure
the code on top reads E3AE-6015-BA22 and it has a huge Z then at the bottom it reads 4623
A: It is in fact a 1983 302 used in full size cars and some light trucks.
A= 1940
B= 1950
C= 1960
D=1970
E=1980 so a E3 would be a 1983 AE-6015 is the head and BA means its 302
What are your trying to do with it??
Q: Engine problems?
i have a 1983 ford bronco and it starts up fine wether im in park or neutral. when ever i put it into reverse or drive i get a horrible rumbling and then engine dies. i also hear a squeeling which sounds like it could be a vaccuum leak. im thinking either vaccuum leak or bad alternator but im not sure.
A: When you start the Engine What is the Idle Speed? Should be between 650 and 800 RPM! Check All Vacuum Lines, Leak is Very Possible! Likely Problem(s); Vacuum Leak, Carburetor Rebuild and Tune-Up.
Q: WRX in the winter?
As of now i have a 1983 ford bronco and i love it to death. The only downside is that it sucks the gas like no other. i was thinking about getting rid of the bronco and getting a subaru WRX or maybe even an STI (or its arch enemy the lance or evo) . i guess what i was really wondering is if it would be ok to drive during the winter. i have heard about not driving sports/luxury cars in the winter but my family owns a mustang and has never had problems with cold or winter. no rust or any other mechanical problems. i live in central ohio so we get our fair amount of snow. it also wouldnt be driven that much jsut back and forth to school and on the weekends.
A: All those cars are AWD, so they would be much better on snowy roads than, say, a Camaro or Supra…
Q: Please Ford mechanics any advice seriosly needed 10 pts for best answer?
I have a 4×4 ford bronco 302 engine. I have put a new battery, stering colum, ignition coil, and the sylionoid. The distrubuter isnt get spark. The ignition coil is the 4 th brand new one put on! Any advice? Oh its a 1983 full size bronco also! Please help me I really need a car and dont have a lot of cash to keep buying parts! Thanks so much!
We tried all this any other advice? There was a flash
A: 4 ignition coils? Did a new one work (give spark) in the first place?
I don’t know how you checked it but I would take the high voltage wire from the coil and stick a screwdriver in the connector and hold the bare metal part 1/4″ from an engine metal part (not the fuel line lol) and crank the engine to check for spark.
If you get spark, then plug it back to the distributor and repeat the test using one of the spark plug wires instead of the ignition wire. That will tell you if the distributor is at fault or the plug wires.
Maybe others can give you more in here. Hope this helps
Q: STOP ALL THE FIGHTING ineed your help which truck is better?
OK HEAR ME ALL THE WAY OUT FOR THIS ONE along with my 354 chevy i spoke about in past qustions i also have my baby which i use for trailing. a 1983 FORD BRONCO 2IN LIFT AND SOFT FROUNT END SUSPENSION. now my buddy every time we go out weeling he takes his 82 yoda and thinks he hot s#it and his ride is so much better than mine. I tell him ya your right for twice the cost i could get his little tin can 6 banger truck THAT GETS DENTS IN IT IF YOU LOOK AT IT WRONG. i dont understand why do these little trucks get such a high rep. now dont get wrong i like yodas, but i need some dirt ABOUT THESE TRUCKS or something to get him off my back. AND JUST TO LET YOU KNOW HE MAY BE ABLE TO SQUIZE IN TIGHTER PLACES BUT I CAN TAKE DEPPER WATER AND MUD AND BRASH THROUGH BUSHES BETTER THAN HIM) WHAT DO YOU THINK about this delima
A: Yea, he probably thinks everything he has is better than yours. Not worth the fight to challange a mentally inferior person. Let him brag, it’s the only thing he has… poor guy.
It’s a shame he takes the wind out of a good outing by his verbal rants. Sorry for you dude.
Q: Will a lift kit for a ford ranger work on my mazda b4000?
I have a 1996 mazda b4000 se 4×4. Will the 4 in. rough country suspension lift for 83-97 ford rangers work on my mazda?

Benefits:
• Redesigned kit for easier intallation!
• Fits 33″ tires with no rubbing or trimming of fender well.
Notes:
• Does NOT fit 87-88 Rangers w/”High Rider STX” option.
• Vehicles w/ manual steering add manual pitman arm.
• Single steering stabilizer will not work on Bronco IIs with our 4″ suspension and sway-bar drop brackets equipped.
• Lifts Fit Year Models:
- 1983-1997 Ranger
- 1984-1990 Bronco II
- 1990-1994 Explorer
A: After 1994 both vehicles were built together side by side with some cosmetic differences. I would double check by finding one on a used lot and looking underneath. (crawling around) 1998 was transition year- new body style. Remember now, with 4″ of lift this truck will be out of balance even with the 33s on it. It will lean more in the corners. Hopefully you have a Supercab-they are longer. Been there and done this.
