Q: How do you let down the back window of a 1980 Ford Bronco Convertible?
I’ve tried but can’t, for the life of me, figure it out!!!!
A: There should be two switches for the operation of the back glass, one on the instrument panel and one that is key operated in the tailgate itself.
Q: 1980 Ford Bronco fuse diagram?
I’m working on a 1980 Ford Bronco with a 350 and a four speed manual. The previous owner lost the lid to the fuse panel, and I’m trying to figure out some electrical problems. I don’t know which circuits are blowing fuses because I don’t have the diagram from the inside of the lid. Does anyone have a picture of, or know where to get a schematic detailing the fuse positions within the panel, short of buying a manual? Thanks!
A: Check with the ford dealer. They can help you out getting you a copy of the info you need for the fuse diagram.
Q: I have a 1980 Ford Bronco. Im not getting any spark. Ihave replaced many parts without any resolts Please help
I have replaced the distributer, coil, starting cillinoid, starter and ICM. I was told to replace the crankshaft positioning sensor but Ihave looked everywhere on that motor(302) and cant find one.
A: check the timing, rotor, points, ign sw on the steer column may be worn out
fungus brain is wrong. ford rules, never buy japanese crap
Q: Smog test ford bronco?
I have a 1980 something ford bronco if it doesent pass smog test how much will this cost me to get it fixed
A: No way of telling until it’s analyzed to find what’s causing it to fail. Different parts have different prices and it could be more than one part that has failed.
Q: Was the cheapest car you had, also the most dependable you’ve ever had?
I had a 1980 Ford Bronco that I paid 100 bucks for about 5 years ago, and it was the most dependable vehicle I have ever owned. Owned it for 2 years, and all I replaced was the front driver tire. Over 300,000 miles, looked like crap, no grill, headlights held on with chicken wire, spray paint-paint job, 4 different tires and rims. I miss it!!!
A: 1976 austin mini 1000
traded a $100 cd player that was now used, and a case of beer for it.
it was primered only, had 1 windshield wiper, and the headlight switch was a household lightswitch. didn’t have a door key, so i couldn’t lock it.
put an alternator in it (and had to rig it up at that, couldn’t get a replacement, so i put in a delco and made new brackets) and that was it.
that car would stick to the road no matter how hard i drove it, any other car would have rolled with the hell driving i did, all it would do was spin out and never lift a wheel even taking an intersection corner at 55mph
sold it 3 years later for $1200
Q: 351 ford reliability?
i was wondering about the realiabilty of the ford 351 engine found in the ford bronco from 1980-1984 currently i’m not possitive on weather or not its a cleavland or windsor any info would be helpful
A: first it could be both but a Windsor is small block and Cleveland is a big block look at a 302 valve covers well fit both Windsor and the 302
Q: Old amp!!!!?
Well the other day i was looking in our families 1980 ford bronco and i was talking to my dad about systems and he was like i got a amp under the drivers seat so i took it out and it was a Rockwood preditor 300 watt amp just sitting there collecting dust since we never drive that bronco ever, so i took it out cleaned it up and hooked it up in my car and it is pushing a mb quart 12 and pushes it better then the newer 500watt kenwood i was using. Just wondering if anyone has heard of rockwood? and if they are a new company now or on old one it sounds pretty good for a amp my dad said he bought from crutchfield in like 90-94
A: this is an old company i had a rockwood 300watts but they suck on my 12inch pioneer 1200w woofers so i installed a 1200w sony explode amp
Q: WHICH TRUCK SHOULD I TURN INTO A 4×4 MACHINE?
ford bronco 1980-1996
or
chevrolet/gmc z71 1989-1998
A: I cut my teeth on Chevys but I would be the first to suggest you forget the Z71. The wheel base is too long for any serious off-road competition. The Ford Bronco would be a better choice. But of course the 1966 to 1977 has far more superior off-road capabilities than 1978 and newer Broncos. There is a Chevy though that can give the best of the off-road beasts some rowdy competition and that is the K5 Blazer.
Q: Bronco, f150, k5 Lift Kit questions?
I am looking to start a new project truck, basically i want it lifted as tall as i can get it, with the biggest tires i can fit on it. I have been looking mainly at any model Ford bronco’s but the 1979 is my favorite. Or a 1980’s k5 blazer. Or a 90’s f150. Or any other older 4×4 that you like that can take a extreme lift like i want.
If anyone knows where to get suspension lift kits of 10″ or more for any of these, as well as 4″ or more body lifts please let me know. Any websites or info is greatly appreciated.
Will give 10pts to best answer.
A: Rancho suspension or Trailmaster
Q: Ford 300 straight six 4.9L reliablilty?
I am wanting to buy this 1980 bronco with a 300 straight 6 4.9L. 4speed.
I have heard they are really good motors and last quite a while, but have any of you owned one?
the bronco has had a rebuild, about 10,000 miles ago, and is only 800 bucks.
any tips? thanks
A: I have an F-100 from 83 with that engine. It was my grandfather’s before me, and I know he never had to do engine work to it, neither have I.
It now has over 400,000 miles on it and is still running strong
Lol not much of a bed left on it though
