Q: How much horsepower does a 1979 ford bronco have?
I have a 1979 ford bronco 400 big block in it and yes its a 400 big block cause ‘78 and ‘79 are the only years ford made 400’s and i was wonderign how much horsepower it had under the hood?
well if its a 400 big blco kshouldnt it have 400 hp or what is that number for?
A: The 400M was rated at 169 HP. Stock the 400M is pretty weak, but they be can built up into serious torque monsters.

A: The brand adjustments you are looking for are on the outside of the transmission case they look like a threaded stud with a jam nut they are adjusted in in/lbs,but it really doesn’t matter you could tighten them all the way down you have bigger problems than band adjustment.

Q: why does my 1979 ford bronco leaks gas onto the engine?
Not sure exactly where it is coming from, but it seems to be the carburetor. everything is damp and there is a constant drip onto the top of the engine. the drip falls off of a little box with a piston sticking out of it that gets pushed inward by an arm underneath the carb. Does anyone know what the problem is?
A: replace the gasket on that box, it is the accelerator pump, the gasket is likely dried out and creating the leak

Q: 1979 Ford Bronco running hard. any answers?
i have a 400 modified motor in my 79 bronco and at about half throtle it runs really REALLY rough. it spits and sputters. almost sounds out of time. it just started one day out of the blue (ran great before that). anyone have the same/similar problem? or have any idea what this could be???
A: Some of the possibilities are plug wires, plugs, distributor cap/ rotor, coil, a partially plugged main jet in the carb, or a bad power valve.
